History
Steffen Zeile has been a musician since the age of 6, actually, it all started when he sent his first cry into this world as a baby. It all began with playing the piano, followed by forming his first band in the living room, using Omo drums (which is indeed true) as drums, guitar, and Steffen on the piano. The vocals were amplified through a transistor radio, which distorted terribly. Interestingly, this effect is actually being used again in contemporary radio productions today.
At the age of 27, he joined the band Print, which produced rock music, mainly original songs, but also blues and rock covers. It was during this time that the songs „Easy Times“ and „Midnight Man“ were created, both of which were already suspected to be hits back then.
Following that, he was part of Dirty Blue, also creating original music. They performed locally, including at the legendary jazz club Seewald in Horb-Grünmettstetten, where blues and boogie greats like Errol Dixon also played.
Since 1987, Steffen has been the keyboardist initially, and then, up to the present day, the vocalist of Blue Stuff, a rock cover band from Freudenstadt.
In parallel to this, Steffen continually composed songs, but these rarely left his home studio. The arrangements were always too imperfect and time-consuming to meet his standards.
In the autumn of 2025, Jürgen Krippner approached Steffen and asked him to compose a rock ballad for a song he had written after a personal tragedy. Indeed, by winter, the song was completed with piano, vocals, and subtle synthesizer strings. Jürgen and his wife Iris were thrilled and eager to share the song „Endless Night“ with the public. It was intended not only to provide them hope and confidence but also to help others who are going through tough times.
For the first version, a radio version of the song was created at the zz music studio, which, thanks to today’s technological possibilities, finally met Steffen Zeile’s standards. This version is now available on YouTube and many streaming services like Spotify, Amazon Music, etc. A video is also planned for summer, which has already received a cool storyboard from Jürgen.
At the dawn of the internet in the 1990s, Steffen reserved the domain „zz-musix.de,“ knowing that he would eventually need it. Now, it seems the time has come. Here, old and new songs, as well as links to them, will be made available online. Enjoy and have fun with the songs! 🙂
Die ganze Geschichte…
Steffen Zeile ist Musiker seit seinem 6. Lebensjahr, ja eigentlich schon seit er als Baby seinen 1. Schrei in diese Welt schickte. Mit Klavierspielen begann alles, dann im Wohnzimmer die 1. Band mit Omo-Trommeln (tatsächlich wahr) als Drums, Gitarre und Steffen am Klavier. Verstärkt wurde der Gesang über ein Transistor-Radio, das furchtbar übersteuerte. Der Effekt findet in aktuellen Radio-Produktionen tatsächlich heutzutage wieder Anwendung. Danach mit 27 Jahren die Band Print, die Rockmusik produzierte, hauptsächlich eigene Songs, aber auch Blues- und Rock-Covers. Hier entstanden auch die Songs „Easy Times“ und „Midnight Man“, die schon damals unter Hitverdacht standen.
Danach Dirty Blue auch mit eigener Musik. Auftritte im lokalen Umfeld, u. a. im legendären Jazzclub Seewald in Horb-Grünmettstetten, in dem auch Blues- und Boogiegrößen wie Errol Dixon auftraten.
Seit 1987 dann zuerst Keyboarder, danach und bis heute Sänger bei Blue Stuff, einer Rock-Coverband aus Freudenstadt.
Nebenher komponierte Steffen immer wieder Songs, die aber das häusliche Tonstudio so gut wie nicht verließen. Die Arrangements waren immer zu unvollkommen und zeitaufwändig, um tatsächlich seinen Ansprüchen genügen zu können.
Im Herbst 2025 kam dann Jürgen Krippner auf Steffen zu und bat ihn, zu einem Songtext, den er nach einem Schicksalsschlag geschrieben hatte, eine Rockballade zu komponieren. Und tatsächlich, im Winter war der Song mit Klavier, Gesang und dezenten Synthi-Streichern fertig. Jürgen und seine Frau Iris waren begeistert und voller Tatendrang, den Song „Endless night“ öffentlich zu machen. Er sollte nicht nur ihnen Hoffnung und Zuversicht geben, sondern auch anderen Menschen helfen, die sich gerade in schwierigen Zeiten befinden.
Zur 1. Fassung entstand im zz musikstudio eine Radioversion des Songs, die mit den heutigen Möglichkeiten der Technik tatsächlich und endlich den Ansprüchen von Steffen Zeile genügen konnte. Diese Version gibt es jetzt auf Youtube und vielen Streamingdiensten wie Spotify, Amazon Music etc. Im Sommer ist dann noch ein Video dazu geplant, der schon ein cooles Storyboard von Jürgen zu erhalten hat.
Gleich zur Anfangszeit der Internets in den 90er Jahren reservierte sich Steffen die Domain „zz-musix.de“, wissend, dass er sie irgendwann einmal brauchen wird. Und nun scheint die Zeit gekommen zu sein. Hier werden nun alte und neue Songs bzw. die Links zu dazu online gestellt. Viel Spaß und Freude mit den Songs 🙂
